The Breakup

The Breakup is a poetic short film that explores the quiet, emotional aftermath of a breakup through the eyes of a young woman named Victoria. Told with voiceover, visual metaphor, and a minimalist approach to storytelling, the film captures the subtle rituals of heartbreak — podcasts, cigarettes, flashbacks, and messy morning coffees — as she navigates the in-between space of grief and self-reclamation.

Blending naturalism and lyricism, the story is intimate, sincere, and reflective — a portrait of emotional density that never asks for pity, only presence. With stylistic influences from Frances Ha and The Worst Person in the World, the film invites the viewer to sit in the silence, laugh through the ache, and witness the slow return to self.

This is the first official production by CURADORIA STORY LAB, a creative studio I founded to develop writer-driven, emotionally resonant stories across film and television.

I WON MY FIRST AWARD!

I'm over the moon to announce I got my first awards. Yes, plural, I was a winner on the New Jersey Film Awards of February, 2025. The Tune, my debut as a director won Best Experimental Short; The Breakup, my to-be-produced script won Best Short Script and I was also winner at the Best Female Filmmaker category. It's hard to describe the feeling of winning something like this for the first time, but maybe I can say it resembles a lot like HOPE.
